How to remove your details from Companies House (director home address)

If you’re (or were) a company director, LLP member or PSC, your home address may be public on the Companies House register — a common way people-search sites find UK home addresses. Form SR01 suppresses it.

Step by step

   Check what’s public

   Search yourself on the Companies House register and note where your home (not service) address appears.

   Give a service address

   First set a service (correspondence) address that isn’t your home, so filings going forward don’t re-expose it. This part is free — form CH01 at www.gov.uk/government/publications/change-the-details-of-a-director-ch01, though GOV.UK ask you to file online where you can because paper takes longer.

   File form SR01

   Apply to suppress your home address from the public register — it also covers your signature, the day of your date of birth and your business occupation. GOV.UK: “It costs £34 for each document listed in your application.” Since ECCTA 2023 this can include historic filings.

   Confirm suppression

   Companies House replaces the address with your service address once accepted — check the record after a few weeks.
